Joy of Living 1 Mini-Retreat: Calming the Mind (MSP-J1Mini1018)

11/10/2018 01:00 PM - 04:00 PM CT

Description

The teachings in The Joy of Living are really remarkable. I have listened to the teachings 30 or 40 times, but even so, every time I hear them there's something new there...a new understanding. So don't think 'Oh, I already watched those one time, I don't need to do it again.' You should actually receive those teachings again and again.
-Senior Tergar Lama Khenpo Kunga

Please join us on Saturday, November 10 for a Joy of Living 1 Mini-Retreat with a Tergar Practice Leader.

This half-day retreat offers additional instruction to those who have completed a Joy of Living 1: Calming the Mind Meditation Workshop either in person or on-line.

The teachings that you have already received in Calming the Mind provide an introduction to awareness meditation and hopefully have helped you establish a basis for daily practice. Deepen your experiential understanding of open awareness, meditating with the senses, and meditating with thoughts and emotions as you take a break from work or home routines to nourish yourself and rejuvenate your mind and practice. No matter how many times you have explored these teachings, the opportunity to discover more is always there.

Each session includes video teachings by Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche (featuring material that is not shown in Joy of Living meditation workshops), as well as guided meditations, group discussion, and walking meditation.

Date/Time/Location:
November 10, 1:00 p.m.—4:00 p.m.
Tergar Community of Minneapolis/St. Paul
1621 East Hennepin Avenue, Suite 210, Minneapolis, MN 55414

The workshop is free.  Registration is not required, but appreciated for planning purposes.
