Exploring Compassion and Wisdom — Thursday Night Talks on Buddhist Meditation

01/18/2018 07:00 PM - 08:30 PM CT

Description

The Buddhist path offers practical tools to transform the mind and open the heart. In the Tibetan tradition, this journey is framed as an exploration of wisdom and compassion. Wisdom helps us to understand the mind and how habits and reactions create suffering and anxiety, while compassion gives us the confidence to expand our motivation to something greater than our own self-interests.

In this ongoing series, Tergar Instructor Cortland Dahl will offer meditation instructions and practical teachings on the path of wisdom and compassion. These sessions will focus on a set of teachings known as the Six Paramitas – six practices that help us to apply wisdom and compassion in everyday life.

These sessions are open to those who are new to meditation as well as experienced meditators. All sessions are offered on a drop-in basis - no pre-registration necessary.

The teachings offered in this series will follow Tergar’s online course: Exploring Compassion and Wisdom.
