Live Online Workshop Series with Kell Julliard and Tsunma Kunsang Palmo

In this online meditation workshop series, we will explore the practice of insight meditation. By bringing our beliefs and patterns into the light of awareness, we can see how they often blind us to the richness of our true nature. The wisdom that arises through insight meditation allows us to see our inner experience and the world more clearly.  This leads to a sense of freedom, well being, and confidence rooted in awareness itself and available to us every moment.  The schedule for this workshop includes video teachings by Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, short presentations on the key points of meditation practice and theory by Kunsang and Kell, as well as guided meditations and discussion. The following are important to participation in this workshop:

-Practicing the meditations given in one session before the next session

-Attending breakout sessions with fellow students during the workshop series

This workshop is open to meditators who have previously attended Calming the Mind: Joy of Living 1 & Opening the Heart: Joy of Living 2 meditation workshops, retreats or online courses, and meet the practice requirements. If you come from another tradition and feel you may meet the prerequisite meditation study and practice requirements, please contact kell@tergar.org.

ABOUT THE FACILITATORS:

Kell Julliard has practiced meditation in a variety of traditions since his early twenties. In 2009 he met Mingyur Rinpoche and has since studied intensively with Rinpoche and the Tergar Meditation Community. During this time he has served as a mentor for the Tergar New York City Meditation Center and Tergar Elmira. In addition to Kell’s role with Tergar, he previously served as director of clinical research at a large federally qualified health center in Brooklyn, where he also taught mindfulness meditation to faculty, students, and staff.  Kell currently teaches mindfulness meditation at the Sirius Community in Shutesbury, Massachusetts.

Tsunma Kunsang Palmo, originally from England, travelled and worked around the world as an art teacher in international schools for over a decade. On a trip to Nepal she encountered Lama Zopa Rinpoche and was so inspired by the teachings that she chose to stay in Asia and live a life immersed in the Dharma. Soon after that she travelled to Himachal Pradesh in North India where she met Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo and was further inspired by her guidance and teachings. She went on to complete a three-year retreat at Sherabling Monastery under the guidance of Mingyur Rinpoche. Since then she has continued to study with Mingyur Rinpoche and, as a Tergar International facilitator, has led Joy of Living workshops and retreats in India and Nepal. She currently lives at Mingyur Rinpoche's Monastery, Osel Ling in Kathmandu, Nepal.
