Joy of Living 1 Mini-Retreat: Living with Awareness

02/03/2018 09:30 AM - 04:30 PM CT

Description

The teachings in The Joy of Living are really remarkable. I have listened to the teachings 30 or 40 times, but even so, every time I hear them there's something new there...a new understanding. So don't think 'Oh, I already watched those one time, I don't need to do it again.' You should actually receive those teachings again and again.

Please join us on Saturday, February 3rd for a Joy of Living 1 Mini-Retreat (formerly known as a "Joy of Living Follow-Up") with members of the Tergar Madison Teaching Team.

Dig deeper into the Joy of Living 1 teachings in this day-long mini-retreat. The teachings that you have already received in Calming the Mind provide an introduction to awareness meditation and hopefully have helped you establish a basis for daily practice. But there’s more. Deepen your experiential understanding of open awareness, meditating with the senses, and meditating with thoughts and emotions as you take a break from work or home routines to nourish yourself and rejuvenate your mind and practice. No matter how many times you have explored these teachings, the opportunity to discover more is always there.

Joy of Living mini-workshops and mini–retreats offer more extensive instruction to those who have participated in Joy of Living meditation workshops and residential retreats. Each session includes video teachings by Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche (featuring material that is not shown in Joy of Living meditation workshops), as well as guided meditations, group discussion, and walking meditation.

This event is open to all, newcomers and experienced practitioners alike.
